Training in home-based care, I.T., church leadership and more

IOC Offices and Training Centre

Sharing our expertise

We aim to show leadership in the field of community and home-based care. In 2005 we trained 25 home-based care-givers on a 60 day classroom and workplace course, our trainer in turn being trained by the Global Fund and South Coast Hospice in South Africa. Our aim is to become an accredited training provider and ultimately extend the role of community-based care-givers through greater training.

Information Technology

Ingwavuma Orphan Care holds much of the I.T. expertise within Ingwavuma and we think it's important to share this. Our in-house I.T. trainer holds courses not only for our own staff but for community members also.

Pastoral Support

With our full-time chaplain as part of our Community-based Care multidisciplinary team, and our Orphan Care Youth Pastors, we aim to be fully engaged with the local churches. Our aim is to empower them to be more effective within their own scope and to encourage church groups take active steps in the battle against the effects of HIV/AIDS.
